Snorkel Trips on Ambergris Caye
Explore the Belize Barrier Reef
You don’t need to be a scuba diver to enjoy the beautiful fish life and coral of our pristine reefs in Belize! Book a guided snorkeling trip package through the front desk at Blue Tang Inn.

Hol Chan Marine Park and Shark Ray Alley
At Hol Chan Marine Reserve, a guide will lead you along the reef, pointing out the many interesting fish and coral formations. This beautiful, small channel contains many different schools of fish. Large black groupers, horse eyed jacks, school master snappers and sergeant majors will escort you through this very scenic tour around the channel. At Shark Ray Alley you can snorkel with friendly nurse sharks & southern stingrays next to the boat. Enjoy the blue tang fishes as well.
Time: AM or PM 2 ½ hour trip
Price: $75 USD
Coral Gardens
Known for its diversity of coral, this is probably the best Belize snorkeling site for beginners. The shallow depths, yet incredible diversity, of the Coral Gardens, make it the ideal location if this is your first time donning a snorkel and mask. Located on the inner side of the reef, Coral Gardens are also sheltered, which means currents here are less strong and swimming around to see the tons of colorful fish is much easier. Visibility is excellent in its shallow waters, and you will love its photogenic coral maze teeming with fish.
Time: AM or PM 2 ½ hour trip
Price: $85 USD

The tour includes a park fee, sales tax, water, fruit punch, and snorkel gear if needed.

Mexico Rocks Snorkel
A 20-minute skiff ride north of San Pedro brings you to the well-known cluster of coral heads called Mexico Rocks. No mooring buoys mark this site, but all the locals know its location adjacent to the former coconut plantation named Mexico Cocal. Shallow and protected by the barrier reef from ocean swells, this site is great for snorkelers.

Sirena Azul Sailing & Snorkeling
The owners of Blue Tang Inn wanted a traditional sailboat for their guests that modeled the typical fishing boats in Belize. The 40-foot Sirena Azul ("Blue Mermaid") is made out of hardwoods found in Belize, including Santa Maria, Bullet and Mahogany. The traditional style and quality craftsmanship was maintained, but we have added a diesel inboard engine, bathroom and plumbing fixtures and modern window hardware and lighting. The boat has a very unique style with its cabin shape and wide beam.
